Welcome to The Bubba Hub! Selecting the right travel stroller can be a daunting task with so many fantastic options available. To help you make an informed decision, we’ve compared five of the most popular cabin-approved travel strollers stocked at The Bubba Hub for Hire. In this post, we’ll examine key factors such as age suitability, basket size, seat comfort, manoeuvrability, sun canopy coverage, foldability, weight, and dimensions. Let’s get started!

The Strollers

Silver Cross Jet 3

Bugaboo Butterfly

Ergobaby Metro Compact

Joolz Aer+

Babyzen YOYO2

1. Silver Cross Jet 3

The Silver Cross Jet 3 combines style and functionality, featuring a fully reclinable seat and an adjustable harness, making it suitable from birth. It’s cabin-approved for air travel and folds down into a compact size, the bespoke design allowing it to be wheeled like cabin luggage setting it apart from other travel strollers.

The Jet 3 comes fitted with a bumper bar, which can easier be removed and replaced with car seat adaptors, although these are only compatible with Silver Cross infant carriers: Simplicity, Simplicity Plus or Dream i-Size

Key Features:

Weight: 6.2 kg (13.7 lbs)

Folded Dimensions: 55 x 30 x 20 cm

Age Suitability: From birth up to 15 kg (around 3 years)

Sun Canopy: Good coverage, though it lacks additional extensions, you may need to consider use of a parasol of snooze shade to help protect your little bubs from the sun.

Basket Size: Adequate, but less accessible than some competitors.

Accessories: Car seat adapters compatible with Silver Cross infant carriers: Simplicity, Simplicity Plus or Dream i-Size

2. The Bugaboo Butterfly

The Bugaboo Butterfly is tailored for babies from 6 months and features a spacious, high-backed seat with easy recline and an extending leg rest. Its sun canopy is excellent for providing shade during naps on the go. The Butterfly is one of the most spacious travel strollers, yet still offers a compact, cabin approved fold.

The stroller is available for hire from The Bubba Hub without without a bumper bar, which is provided as separate attachment. Whilst travelling we would suggest removing the bar and additional connection attachments to ensure the most compact fold.

The Bugaboo Butterfly can be used with car set adaptors, unlike the Jet 3 it is compatible with a range of brands including: CYBEX Cloud Z, Cloud Q, Nuna Pipa Lite, Pipa Next, Pipa Lite LX, Maxi-Cosi Cabriofix, Rock + Pebble Plus

A stroller specific comfort board attaches with a simple click, offering a fun ride for elder siblings. Whennot in use it flips up and remains inpace without the need for any further attachment, which is another fab feature.

Key Features:

Weight: 7.3 kg (16.1 lbs)

Folded Dimensions: 45 x 23 x 54 cm

Age Suitability: Up to 22 kg

Ease to Fold: Super easy one-handed, one-second fold.

Basket Size: Generous and easy to access.

Sun Canopy: Excellent extension for added protection.

3. Ergobaby Metro Compact

The Ergobaby Metro Compact features a plush, padded seat offering a full recline and a unique footrest that flips up for added comfort and protection, for younger passengers, making it an excellent option to be used from birth until around 4years old (22kg). Another great feature is its extending handlebars making it suitable for taller parents. Here at The Bubba Hub we generally suggest this stroller fro use with a Lascal buggy board, due to the extending handle bar feature, offering more space for your little one as well as longer strides for parents.

The Ergobaby Metro Compact can be used with infant car seat adapters compatible with: Cybex, Nuna, BeSafe or Maxi Cosi Group 0/0+ Seats

Key Features:

Weight: 6.3 kg (13.9 lbs)

Folded Dimensions: 52 x 44 x 23 cm

Age Suitability: From birth - 22kg

Ease to Fold: One-handed, compact fold.

Basket Size: Great access and ample storage.

Sun Canopy: Good coverage, but lacks additional extensions.

Accessories: Bumper bar, car seat adapters: compatible with: Cybex, Nuna, BeSafe or Maxi Cosi Group 0/0+ Seats

4. The Joolz Aer+

The Joolz Aer + features a sleek design and smooth manoeuvrability, accommodating children from birth due to its lay flat function, through toddlerhood. The harness adjustability is probably one of the easiest we are yet to come across.

The compact one handed fold ensures the seat complies with airline requirements.

Alternatively with you prefer your little one parent facing there is the option to add a Joolz Aer+ Cot by removing the seat, even when using the cot function the strollers folds easily with on hand offering a flat one piece fold, ideal for storage, although not cabin approved in this set up.

Car seat adaptors are also available for use with the seat set up and are compatible with a large range of car seats, please click here to view the compatibility chart of the Joolz website.

A brand specific foot board is another great accessory which easily clicks onto the stroller frame, allow older passengers to hitch a ride, when not in use it folds up and attaches neatly out of the way

Key Features

Weight: 6 kg (13.2 lbs)

Folded Dimensions: 53 x 45 x 23 cm (seat set up)

Carrycot outside: 86 x 42 x 65cm

Age Suitability: From birth up to 22 kg

Ease to Fold: Effortless one-handed fold.

Basket Size: Generous and easily accessible.

Sun Canopy: Excellent extension for extra protection from the elements.

Accessories: Carrycot, car seat adapters (compatible with too many to list see link above) and Joolz foot board

5. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 remains a favourite for frequent travellers, with various options from a newborn pack or basinet to a 6-month setup. Its compact design and quick folding mechanism and novel accessories such as ski's that fit to the buggy make this a super versatile and popular stroller.

Babyzen YOYO2 Newborn pack: As its name suggested is suitable from birth, attaching to the main YOYO frame it offers a comfortable 2.5 cm mattress, water-resistant canopy, a removable, sherpa-lined foot cover; and head support. The pack fold with the stroller complying with cabin luggage regulations. This is a fantastic parent facing option for travel with younger babies. They can even be unfolded in the isle!

Babyzen YOYO2 with Basinet: This set up is also suitable from birth, it offers a harder basinet shell, with a skirt and sun canopy. Another great parent facing option for travel. However, in this set up the stroller doesn't comply with cabin luggage requirements, due to size (although super still super compact) The basinet can be removed and folds in to a smaller shell following a fews simple steps, making it a winner when it comes to tight storage spaces.

The above 2 options should only be used whilst your little bubs is unable to roll or sit unaided.

Babyzen YOYO2 with Colour Pack: 6 months plus or from when baby can set unaided, the stroller you really do see everywhere! One if the most compact strollers, which is really easy to manoeuvre, suitable up to 22kg. The seat is smaller than others due to its compact size, it offers a decent recline, whilst not full is still ample to aid a decent nap. The sun canopy offers some coverage from the elements, however, you may wish to consider use of a snooze shade or parasol for additional protection. (The Stokke YOYO3 now offers an extending sun canopy) There is a definite knack to the fold, but once you've got it , it folds in seconds.

The Babyzen YOYO, can be used with it's brand specific wheeled board, car seat adapters compatible with: BABYZEN YOYO car seat by BeSafe, BeSafe iZi Go Modular X1, Cybex Aton Q, Cybex Cloud T & Cybex Cloud T i-Size, Cybex Cloud Z, Cybex Cloud Z2 i-Size, Maxi Cosi Pebble Pro

More than one little bubs? The Babyzen YOYO also has an added functionality to convert a single into double using the Babyzen YOYO connect frame. From client feedback we have found this frame to be a bit of a 'marmite' set up with parents either loving it or not being able to get on with it. The connector frame attaches to the back of the frame of the lead YOYO, with 2 wheels at the back. some feedback has been it can be difficult to turn and get up curbs, having to push down on both sets of handle bars. Others love it, especially those who only require a double for a small percentage of time, easily detachable this can be a game changing feature when one parents needs to take the 2 little bubs....personally, facilitating dad to take them them for a stroll whilst I get ready in the hotel has taken a lot hassle out of our holidays!

Key Features:

Weight: 6.2 kg (13.6 lbs), weight of YOYO² with bassinet: 8.1kg

Folded Dimensions: 52 x 44 x 18 cm, with basinet 48cm (W) x 44cm (H) x 30cm (D)

Age Suitability: From 6 months, with options for newborns.

Ease to Fold: Quick two-step fold.

Basket Size: Good storage, easy to access, but fairly shallow.

Accessories: There are many accessories all available separately for the YOYO2, including:

Car seat adapters compatible with: BABYZEN YOYO car seat by BeSafe, BeSafe iZi Go Modular X1, Cybex Aton Q, Cybex Cloud T & Cybex Cloud T i-Size, Cybex Cloud Z, Cybex Cloud Z2 i-Size, Maxi Cosi Pebble Pro,
