Welcome to Bumps, Babies and Brunch Tots Take Over

For over two years, alongside three other incredible local women and business owners, we have carefully curated and delivered our monthly Bumps, Babies & Brunch events for new and expectant mums.

We truly understand how important support, connection and community are during pregnancy and early motherhood, and creating that safe, welcoming space has been something we feel incredibly proud of.

Our brunches have gone from strength to strength, growing into a beautiful, supportive community. Watching friendships form, confidence grow, and mums feel less alone has been one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

But as we all know… babies don’t stay babies forever.

Many of our original BBB little ones are now confidently on the move and have outgrown our early-stage brunch sessions, which are designed for bumps, newborns and pre-walkers.

And so, I am getting ready to launch  Tots Take Over created especially for those growing little personalities (and the mums who still deserve connection, calm and community just as much as ever).

Why This Matters So Much To Me

Here’s the thing ....I’m a mum too!

I had my first baby over 20 years ago. I was in my early twenties, a single mum who had just moved counties with a one-year-old. It was exciting… but it was also isolating.

Fast forward many years, and I then had two more babies during lockdown, one right at the very beginning, when you couldn’t even leave the house. No groups. No coffee dates. No popping out for fresh air and conversation.

So when I say I understand the need for connection, I truly do. I understand the craving for adult conversation, for friendships with like-minded women, for spaces where you feel seen, not just as “mum”, but as you.

There are so many wonderful low-cost playgroups and toddler sessions locally, and I’ve been to many of them myself. They hold a special place in my heart and serve such an important purpose in our communities.

But what we have created is something a little different.

We bring a touch of luxury to motherhood.
A moment of self-care woven into your week.
Curated brunches in beautiful venues across Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset.

For mums who love delicious food.
For mums who appreciate thoughtfully chosen activities that are enjoyable for both them and their little ones.
For mums who enjoy stunning spaces and elevated experiences, without the pressure.

And here’s something else I’ve learned along the way…

You meet lots of mums on your journey, but you don’t always click with everyone. Sometimes your friendships are built around your first baby, baby groups,  group chats and shared routines. Then suddenly they go off to school, or you’re home with baby number two or three, and everything shifts.

Friends go back to work.
Schedules change.
Children move on.

And here’s something else I’ve learned along the way…

You meet lots of mums on your journey, but you don’t always click with everyone. Sometimes your friendships are built around your first child — school gates, class groups, shared routines. Then suddenly they go off to school, or you’re home with baby number two or three, and everything shifts.

Friends go back to work.
Schedules change.
Children move on.

And you can find yourself a year or two into motherhood feeling even more isolated than you did in those early newborn days — when the focus and support often feels strongest.

I recognise that feeling. I’ve lived it.

And that’s exactly why I want to do something about it.

Introducing Tots Take Over

Tots Take Over is the natural next chapter.

It’s for the mums whose babies are no longer tiny.
For the toddlers with big personalities and busy feet.
For the women who still crave connection, even if they’re no longer in the “new mum” stage.

This isn’t just another toddler group.

Tots Take Over is designed for confident walkers and curious explorers, but created with mum in mind just as much as her little one.

You can expect:

• Beautiful, handpicked venues across Bournemouth, Poole and Dorset
• Delicious, elevated brunch menus
• Thoughtfully curated activities suitable for toddlers
• A relaxed, welcoming atmosphere
• Professional photography to capture the memories
• And most importantly, genuine community

It’s a space where toddlers can play, explore and express their growing independence, while mums enjoy meaningful conversation, beautiful surroundings and a moment to breathe.

No sticky church halls (though we love them).
No rushed coffees standing up.
No feeling like you have to fit in.

Just a calm, stylish environment where motherhood in this stage is celebrated, not survived.

Because community shouldn’t end when baby groups do.
Connection shouldn’t disappear once they start walking.
And mums deserve beautiful spaces at every stage of motherhood.

The Next Chapter Starts Here

We are so excited to officially launch Tots Take Over very soon, and I truly cannot wait to welcome you.

This feels like the most natural, heartfelt evolution of everything we’ve built over the past two years. A space that grows with you. A community that doesn’t end when your baby stage does.

We’re so excited to welcome you to Bumps, Babies & Brunch: Tots Take Over, taking place at The Nici, Bournemouth (BH2 5EJ) on Friday 17th April 2025, 9:30am – 12:30pm.

This event is all about connection, connecting with your little one through quality time and shared experiences, while also connecting with other mums in a relaxed and beautiful setting.
